The Provinciali Collection holds a special place in my heart, as it embodies my dual identity. Originating from the picturesque region of Provence in the South of France and deeply rooted in the vibrant culture of California, particularly San Francisco’s peninsula, I wanted to capture the essence of both my homes. Navigating the blend of two worlds can often evoke a sense of displacement, lacking a true feeling of belonging. Through this collection, I aimed to not only celebrate my own complex identity, but also to help others on their own journeys. Crafting these pieces allowed me to recognize that a part of me belongs to France, while another to California.
This design is divided into two distinct parts: the left side embodies the essence of Provence, while the right side encapsulates the spirit of California.
On the left, you'll find a portrayal of a typical French village nestled in the hilly landscape. Dominated by hues of purple, it echoes the vibrant color of lavender, a symbolic emblem of the breathtaking region where I currently reside. The fields depicted represent the endless stretches of lavender fields that adorn the landscape, exuding a sense of beauty and magic that transports you on a whimsical journey.
On the right, the hills that follow the curves of the Pacific Ocean are a vital element of the design. They embody the typical Californian landscape. The radiant orange hue of poppies' flowers serves as a poignant reminder of the sun-kissed essence of California, infusing the scene with warmth and vitality. Just as the sun illuminates the sky with its golden rays, the poppies lend a touch of brightness and cheer to the coastal hillsides, symbolizing the enduring spirit of the Golden State.
